What do I need to rent my property out?
Firstly you need to make sure that your property is safe to rent out to new tenants. Once the property meets required health and safety standards, you will need permission in writing from your mortgage lender, leaseholder or block management company. You must have valid Landlord's buildings and contents insurance. Ask your estate agent if you are unsure about legal certification requirements for the property, such as Energy Performance Certificates (EPC's) and Landlord Gas Safety Certificates.
